The Beehouse offers Creative, Traditional Music Experiences, Music Workshops and Recording Studio Days as well as music experience and songwriting vouchers for musicians, singers and engineers, playing guitar, piano, or any other instrument - and also DJ experiences in a professional recording studio environment.
Because the Beehouse is primarily a music-based environment, involved daily in the commercial aspects of producing professional quality music, we are also equipped to offer a wide variety of music experiences besides those traditionally offered in conventional recording studio experiences. So we do offer a high quality singer experience, but we also offer much more besides. Our recording experiences can incorporate virtually any instrument or range of instruments, and we are able to introduce you to almost any aspect of studio activity, from recording to production, songwriting and arrangement.
The music workshop sessions are good fun and can be especially valuable for someone who has reached a good standard with a particular instrument, who would like to have a record of their achievements, or someone who wants to involve themselves in the creative aspects of commercial recording and production.
A 5 hour music experience for someone singing, playing an instrument DJ-ing or learning about music production therefore costs £199.75 regardless of the choice of music, including a professional quality disc containing what the participant records during their time with us. The range of music experiences we currently cover is dealt with on the right, although we are always amenable to new ideas.
Sometimes five hours is not enough! This is why we also offer two-day (extended) 10 hr music experiences at £350 in a wide variety of skills including guitar-playing (including bass and rhythm), songwriting, piano playing, keyboards, drumming, classical instruments, studio engineering - all finishing in the production of a CD, or several, in some cases.
Due to market forces, we are now offering the 3-hour mini experience - although this represents the minimum time we would allow for a quality recording in a relaxed environment.
The Beehouse is based on the Wales Shropshire border and welcomes enquiries from all over the UK.

Focus on vocals
singing experience - singer experience - pop star experience - vocalist experience
This is the traditional " singing to backings" version of the music experience, the well-known pop singer experience. Some strong cabaret artists and experienced singers have recorded as many as fourteen tracks in a five-hour day singing experience, although 4 or 5 is more likely. Much depends on the time you spend warming up and how quickly and accurately you can lay down lines. During a singing experience, our production engineer will also work with you on microphone technique and layering of vocals. Singers are able to select backings from our extensive in-house catalogue, or request more unusual tracks to be ordered in.
Singers may also sing tracks and accompany themselves on guitar, piano, or whatever instrument they are used to playing, and may even record their own songs, as well as adding full instrumentation and additional vocals.
Vocal tuning software is available for that additional polish which is sometimes requested on a singer experience! We also have a variety of vocal effects and techniques to lend different qualities to your vocals. Focus on drumming - drumming experience or drummer experience
A day for drummers and drum programmers with some knowledge looking for commercial experience. The Beehouse offers a day's experience drumming course at our commercial studio. The drummer, is given experience in drumming or drum programming to commercial standard to music of his or her choice and learns how to integrate drumming sounds into a recording. The drumming course may focus on one or several tracks, and includes time spent on technique, recording skills and the variety of sounds available in today's market. It may also, alternatively, include skills in drum machine programming. The session is with a professional studio engineer, and music produced is recorded during the session onto CD using our commercial studio facilities.
Courses range between five and ten hours and come under the heading of recording studio experience on our website.

Focus on guitar-playing - guitar experience or guitarist experience
An experience session for guitarists with some background in the guitar, wanting to experience a studio session. The Beehouse offers a day's experience guitar-playing course at our commercial studio. The guitarist works on lead riffs, rhythm or bass lines, and techniques involved in integrating any or all of these into a recording. The guitar experience may focus on one or several tracks, and may include time spent on guitar technique, recording skills and the variety of guitar sounds available in today's market. Sometimes this option is combined with vocals for the singer songwriter with guitar, or the "one man band". The session is with a professional studio engineer and music produced is recorded during the session onto CD using our commercial studio facilities. Experiences range between five and ten hours will be listed under recording studio experiences on the purchase page of our website.

The classical experience may simply be a recording which best demonstrates the skills of the musician or singer, or it may be a more subtle course in which the instrumentalist learns how to use their instrument as a contributor to popular styles of music - possibilities are endless and each day is shaped to the needs of the individual. The session is with a professional studio engineer and music produced is recorded during the session onto CD using our commercial studio facilities.
Classical Music Experiences range between five and ten hours and come under the heading of recording studio experience on our website.
Instrumentalists and singers needing to book an accompanist may do so through the Beehouse, although you are advised to try to bring your own accompanist if at all possible. You can book this experience under " recording studio experiences " on the payment page.

Focus on keyboard playing and keyboardists - keyboards experience
* A solo keyboards performance which can be enhanced by the addition of background sounds and instruments.
* Keyboards players can also use the course to develop an understanding of the keyboards as a studio and stage instrument in pop, rock and other styles and learn how to integrate keyboard playing sounds into a recording, or to record his or her own music. Some keyboard playing vocalists combine elements of both in their experience, and come away with a disc of several songs.
The keyboards experience may include time spent on technique, how to read annotation chords or it may simply be a recording which best demonstrates the skills of the keyboardist - possibilities are endless and each day is shaped to the needs of the individual. Focus on piano playing - piano players experience or piano experience
The Beehouse offers a day's piano experience at our commercial studio. The pianist can play classical, jazz or any other style music which can then be mastered to CD or enhanced by the addition of background sounds and instruments. Alternatively, pianists can learn how to use the piano as a studio and stage instrument in pop, rock and other styles and learn how to integrate piano playing sounds into a recording, or to record his or her own music.
The piano experience may be combined with a vocal course or it may simply consist of recordings which best demonstrate the skills of the pianist - possibilities are endless and each day is shaped to the needs of the individual. Many pianists are also songwriters and may wish to develop their music in the studio. The session is with a professional studio engineer and music produced is recorded during the session onto CD using our commercial studio facilities. Experiences range between five and ten hours and come under the heading of recording studio experience on our website.

The Beehouse offers a day's songwriting workshop at our commercial studio. The potential songwriter learns how to write songs, with or without the help of an arranger, depending on musical background and techniques used, and how to record or produce music. The songwriting experience focuses on the writing of a particular song, and includes time spent on lyrics, musical arrangement, annotation and how to then proceed with a formal recording. The song is recorded during the session onto CD using our commercial studio facilities. Courses range between five and ten hours and can be booked as a"recording studio experience" on our website.

Focus on studio engineering - music production experience, studio engineering experience
The Beehouse offers a day's studio engineering experience at our commercial studio. The engineer will follow the process of recording and mixing one or more commercial tracks and will involve the use of Cubase, Cubase SX, SoundForge, or Pro-Tools and computer-based or hardware based recording. Engineers may then take away the multitracks and an audio CD of what they produce. All techniques taught are those employed regularly in our commercial recording sessions and your day will be managed and taught by a professional recording engineer. The participant is able to produce his/her own music by computer and the use of various instruments as pre-arranged for the session.
The studio engineering experience, or music production experience is shaped to the needs of the individual taking part. We have had a great deal of success with these options, which inevitably combine the best skills of the participant with the professionalism of the engineer. Courses range between five and ten hours and come under the heading of recording studio experience on our website.

Focus on DJ sessions - DJ Experience, DJ Recording Experience
A day on the decks for DJs wanting to make their own recordings. The Beehouse offers a day's DJ recording experience at our commercial studio. During a DJ experience, the DJ may record up to a 70 min disc of material during the course of the day. Essentially the same as the recording studio experience for vocalists, with the added attraction that there is some involvement at the production stage for the DJ if desired.
The DJ experience is shaped to the needs of the individual DJ applying and the styles he or she prefers, aiming to record and in some cases produce some of the music the DJ produces during the day. The session is with a professional studio engineer and production expert, and music produced is recorded during the session onto CD using our commercial studio facilities. Courses range between five and ten hours and come under the heading of recording studio experience on our website.

Band Recording Sessions
The band recording session is a six hour experience, mostly because of setup times. For the band experience we are happy to provide you with an acoustic drum kit, bass guitar, lead and rhythm, as well as keyboards and piano if required. And whatever the makeup of your band, we are happy to record up to a maximum of six members.
The band experience costs £250 and the end product is a CD for each band member of the materials recorded. Music can either be recorded simultaneously or track by track, depending on the type of finish required, and this is an ideal joint gift for a teenage band looking for studio experience with an encouraging result.
Having the undivided attention of an experienced recording producer and musician, you can work together in a fun relaxed atmosphere to put together something to be proud of - results are commercial and polished, and the experience is a gentle way in to a very competitive market. And the results make great gifts!!! Family Recording Sessions
The family recording session allows for a family of up to five to attend the studio and record music either separately or together. A particularly good thing to do if you have distant relatives and you want to show them how well your children are developing musically!
Basically the same as any other session, there are two available options : the five hour "Family Recording Studio Experience" , costing £225 or the ten hour "Family Two-Day Experience" costing £390. Please ask for more details - if your requirements are minimalist enough we can often do this at the price for a straightforward Recording Studio Experience, i.e. £199.75, or even a mini-experience for kids only for straightforward recordings.

Depending on what level of recording is required, days can include vocal coaching, vocal layering, and a lot of fun, the total sum of which is then mixed and mastered on the spot and CDs made available. The experience lasts three hours.
Great singing skill is not essential and these recordings turn out to be both great fun, a unique and professional souvenir of a great day. If you wish we can include general chat and laughter during the sessions, and personal best wishes from all or any of the participants.
You are welcome to bring your own food and drink, and will be offered the use of the studio conservatory with its stunningly scenic surroundings for your lunch.

Birthday Party- Recording Experience for a Children's Party
We now offer a recording studio experience suitable for a children's party.(An adults' party can be catered for by a team building session - click here). Catering for up to ten children, the experience costs £199.75 for two hours and £250 for three hours. During the experience children can record tracks previously planned with the studio to make best use of time. They may sing in groups or alone, depending on the overall plan, ages and talents of the children. Recordings, which are light-hearted and very funny on occasions often include lots of ad-libbing, kids' comments, choruses of Happy Birthday, and other items which make the day memorable and nostalgic - and with the right preparation, the birthday girl or boy may take a turn at the mic' on their own to sing a favourite song.

MUSIC WORKSHOP 12
Instrumentalist Recording / Any Instrument
This session of course is for the person you know who plays either one instrument or a number of instruments. Within the experience, the artist can play unaccompanied music, accompanied music, part or all of a particular favourite track or tracks. Those able to do so can even play all the instruments or a number of them on a single recording. Others may want to record one or two lines and find out about computer generated instrumentation to complete the track, or use commercial backings. Basically this session is for someone wanting to learn how to use their instrument or instruments in the context of recording. You may want to record clarinet, oboe, recorder, double bass or piccolo...! Customers pick tracks they would like to record, or record their own music, providing any instrumental lines they wish, vocals etc under the guidance of an experienced and enthusiastic producer who enjoys working with all types of instrument and in a wide variety of styles.

Spoken Recordings
Spoken Recordings may be any kind of spoken or audio recording. You may wish to record a special message, with or without music, or make a more in-depth recording such as a piece of literature or a radio play.
